Make Your Own Patriotic Centerpiece

Flag day is coming up, not to mention Independence Day around the corner! This is the year to make something special! We’re bringing out the metal hoops again, this time to show you how to use them as a free-standing display.  These hoops can be used for hanging solo or in groupings, or in various centerpiece arrangements. Sara will demonstrate how to arrange and secure flowers in different compositions with the hoop, and help you make your own! Enjoy this afternoon workshop while sipping your favorite beverage and feel free to bring your own snacks! We will have coffee and tea available. See project description for more details.

Project Description: 12″ gold metal hoop with wooden stand.  We will be using various red, white and blue silk florals & greens, with floral wire, floral tape, wire cutters, and potentially a hot glue gun. Floral foam is also an option.  Embellishments such as ribbon and raffia will also be available. You will view demonstrations and receive assistance as needed.  If you plan to display a candle with your centerpiece, we recommend that you bring either the candle or its dimensions to ensure it will fit correctly. We do not recommend burning a real candle with these centerpieces. Fairy lights and battery candles are lovely options, as well as no candle at all– the flowers and hoop alone is a beautiful display either on a table or hanging.   NOTE: This project demands a certain amount of dexterity of the fingers, and some of us will be using our reading glasses!
