Our Story

KICKS The Art Place became a possibility when two designers met at a restaurant and started talking about Art. The Studio became a reality in 2014, with a vision to provide a FUN place that enhances the vitality of the Crosslake community and surrounding areas, where people could go to enjoy an experience in ART.

Classes

We first introduced painting classes for adults with step-by-step instructions provided by an experienced artist. We then added Children’s Painting parties, which grew into many different types of parties. People were having fun – they really embraced that idea. We host parties for Birthdays, Girls’ Night Out, Family Reunions, Bachelorette Parties, “Just because” parties. 🙂 In offering painting classes, we added art supplies for those who have DIY projects at home. We have canvases, brushes, accessories and even To Go Kits. 

Furniture

Furniture Repurposing was an interest that blossomed two years later, which expanded to providing Furniture technique classes using our top-brand acrylic and mineral paints from Dixie Belle and Paint Couture. Using textures, glazing, and finishing – there are just so many possibilities with furniture! We love to share our creativity with people who enjoy being creative as much as we do. And help those with their furniture project who would rather we do it for them.

Fine Art Gallery

We have a Fine Art Gallery that includes wildlife photography, metal sculptures, and watercolor artwork. Some people come just to walk through the gallery. There is something soothing about seeing artwork; especially when it’s inspired by the nature of this area.
