SUMMARY:Sunset at Manhatten Beach
DESCRIPTION:As the days get darker earlier\, one way we light up our lives is with charming lamp posts\, such as this one. This view of Manhatten Beach in Crosslake was originally painted by Kathy Mann\, local artist and former instructor at Kicks. See project description below for more details about this painting! Ages 16+ please! \n$45 \nProject Description: We will be painting this with acrylic paint in a 12×16 canvas. No need to have drawing skills\, we use a template to outline the lamp post. Paint along\, step by step\, with Sara\, while sipping a beverage. Sara offers assistance and advice along the way. \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Sign up in advance! Ticket sales close at 8PM the night before. Last minute inquiries\, call to check on availability. \n*Class minimum: 4 \n*In the event of not reaching the minimum\, class is subject to cancellation. \n*Cancellations by us will result in a credit towards a future class or a refund.

SUMMARY:Loon in Water-Mixable Oil Paint and Sip
DESCRIPTION:This year\, during the Loon Festival\, we are going to paint a loon in water-mixable oil paint. It doesn’t sound possible\, but Winsor and Newton has a line of oil paint that is able to be thinned with water\, yet offers much of the same qualities as oil paint. This paint is easy to use thinned down to get the soft\, blended look so characteristic of oil paint. For more details\, read project description below.   Ages 18+ for this class please! \n$50 \nProject Description: 12×16  stretched canvas    Water Mixable Oil Paint    We will begin our painting with the loon\, water and upper sky with a black under-painting with acrylic. The rest of the painting is done with thinned water-mixable oil paint over the top. With W.M. Oil\, It is surprisingly easy to add the colors and white dots when the loon is already black!\nBecause we are using a thinned-down technique\, it doesn’t take as long to dry as usual. But still plan to leave with a sticky painting. Keep it hanging on a wall out of reach until it is at least dry to the touch.

SUMMARY:Transform Your Stencils: Bluebirds
DESCRIPTION:Transform a simple stencil into a work of art!  Many people know how to use multiple colors and gradations in a stencil\, but you can take it a step further and use it as a painting guide. Sara will show how the design of stencils\, with their positive and negative spaces\, provide the information needed to “fill in the blanks.” With our adorable blue bird stencil on a wooden heart\, and “crust medium” by Paint Couture\, Sara will show you how to make your one of a kind wall art with a raised\, textured finish. You will be able to work at your own level\, creating the look you want.  These wooden hearts have two sides\, one smooth and one with “planks’. We have chosen the smooth side for this project\, and will be offering a class to paint the other side in the near future. So watch website and social media!   Space is limited to only EIGHT\, so don’t wait to sign up! Ages 16+ please for this workshop. \n$65 \nProject description:  We will first paint the wooden heart in acrylic paint\, either like the sample or your own version. Sara will demonstrate the various techniques and crust medium by Paint Couture\, followed by a step by step process as a class. Additional hanging hardware can be added to the top with rope or ribbon for hanging.

SUMMARY:Snowman's Cardinal
DESCRIPTION:This snowman has had better days\, as he helplessly watches this cardinal steal thread from his scarf.  If you never tried painting with a pottery sponge\, you are in for a pleasant surprise! The entire background and body of this snowman is done with a pottery sponge\, resulting in a soft\, fluffy effect. We use transfer paper to apply the outline of the bird\, scarf\, hat and carrot.  You will have the option to put a smile on your snowman instead of the surprised expression\, and you can skip the pulling thread if you wish.  If you do opt for the thread\, we can help you by request– either by painting it for you or offering a brush tip marker in a coordinating color.   To achieve the depth of color in the scarf and bird\, we will be painting with 3 tones of paint\, starting with the darkest tone. Our instructor will guide you\, step by step\, to get the look!  Join us for a fun afternoon and bring home a snowman to add to your collection! We accept all skill levels. No experience necessary for this paint and sip style experience!  Enjoy a hot beverage on us\, or bring your own. Great option for a date night or girls’ night out! We’ve allotted 3 hours for this class to ensure enough time is given to finish the cardinal. Ages 16+ is recommended. \n$45 \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Sign up in advance! Ticket sales close at 8PM the night before the event. Last minute inquiries\, call to check on availability. \n*Class minimum: 4 \n*In the event of not reaching the minimum\, class is subject to cancellation. \n*Cancellations by us will result in a credit towards a future class or a refund.
