SUMMARY:Watercolor Jellyfish: Paint and Sip
DESCRIPTION:Who says a paint and sip always has to be in acrylic paint? Watercolor can be just as fun! Jellyfish are the perfect\, organic shape to paint– they are literal “blobs.”  There are no drawing skills needed to paint a blob\, and no templates needed.   The secret is water.  Two hours is plenty of time to watch a demonstration and try it yourself a few times before making your own. Come to have fun\, bring your favorite beverage and snacks\, and we’ll have coffee and tea available. This isn’t an intense “class”\, although\, we like those too. This is a fun paint and sip!  If you really want to learn more techniques\, take a look at the workshop the Wednesday night before! NOTE:  If you attended the workshop on the previous Wednesday night\, receive $10 off of this class!  (You are not required to attend the workshop to come to this event\,) All materials are provided! We use student grade paper to practice\, and then will switch to a higher quality watercolor paper for your final jellyfish at a 9×12 size.  Be sure to sign up in advance!  We limit the size of these classes to be sure everyone can see\, as watercolor is painted flat on the table. Sara will show how the design of stencils\, with their positive and negative spaces\, provide the information needed to “fill in the blanks.” With our adorable blue bird stencil on a wooden heart\, and “crust medium” by Paint Couture\, Sara will show you how to make your one of a kind wall art with a raised\, textured finish. You will be able to work at your own level\, creating the look you want. These wooden hearts have two sides\, one smooth and one with “planks’. SUMMARY:Loon in Water-Mixable Oil Paint and Sip
DESCRIPTION:This year\, during the Loon Festival\, we are going to paint a loon in water-mixable oil paint. It doesn’t sound possible\, but Winsor and Newton has a line of oil paint that is able to be thinned with water\, yet offers much of the same qualities as oil paint. This paint is easy to use thinned down to get the soft\, blended look so characteristic of oil paint. For more details\, read project description below.   Ages 18+ for this class please! \n$50 \nProject Description: 12×16  stretched canvas    Water Mixable Oil Paint    We will begin our painting with the loon\, water and upper sky with a black under-painting with acrylic. The rest of the painting is done with thinned water-mixable oil paint over the top. With W.M. Oil\, It is surprisingly easy to add the colors and white dots when the loon is already black!\nBecause we are using a thinned-down technique\, it doesn’t take as long to dry as usual. DESCRIPTION:If the father in your life is a fisherman\, here’s an option for you.  Consider painting The Bobber for him or scheduling quality time painting together! The Bobber has been very popular on our large\, wooden boards\, but we also offer it on this 10×20 stretch canvas. Text on the Bobber is completely optional and not necessary to have a complete painting\, but you are welcome to add your name to the Bobber or special order a name added afterwards at an additional cost. DESCRIPTION:Need a creative date idea for yourself\, the gal pals\, or with your special someone?  Plan a special night with us at Kicks\, located next to the Yellow House. For this special Valentine’s Day event\, we’ve added an optional ticket for couples who may want to work on one project together and are pulling out all the stops to make this a memorable night. Now\, we can’t lower the lights for obvious reasons\, but expect a creatively romantic atmosphere\, including music\, appetizers\, and a special sweet treat just for you.  When you leave\, you’ll have completed a work of art full of memories and great photos to share. This is a paint and sip event! As usual\, coffee\, hot chocolate\, and a variety of hot tea is available. You are welcome to bring your own favorite beverage/wine and appetizers.  Plan for at least 3 hours of creativity\, fun and quality time!  After a memorable late afternoon with us\, take the rest of the evening for dinner\, dessert and drinks at any of beautiful Crosslake’s venues! (not included in our package) Don’t wait to sign up to save your spot! \nProject Description: We take you step by step through the process\, starting with a basic outline of the mailbox.  We use acrylic paint and heart-shaped hole punches to add a variety of paper hearts and a template to cut out an envelope with your choice of paper. Choose your own colors/designs/sizes to send your hearts flying through the wind!  You have the freedom to be creative and add your own touch. Completed on a 12×16 stretch canvas. \nAges 16+ please \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Register in advance! Registration closes at 8PM the night before. SUMMARY:Snowman's Cardinal
DESCRIPTION:This snowman has had better days\, as he helplessly watches this cardinal steal thread from his scarf.  If you never tried painting with a pottery sponge\, you are in for a pleasant surprise! The entire background and body of this snowman is done with a pottery sponge\, resulting in a soft\, fluffy effect. We use transfer paper to apply the outline of the bird\, scarf\, hat and carrot.  You will have the option to put a smile on your snowman instead of the surprised expression\, and you can skip the pulling thread if you wish.  If you do opt for the thread\, we can help you by request– either by painting it for you or offering a brush tip marker in a coordinating color.   To achieve the depth of color in the scarf and bird\, we will be painting with 3 tones of paint\, starting with the darkest tone. Our instructor will guide you\, step by step\, to get the look!  Join us for a fun afternoon and bring home a snowman to add to your collection! We accept all skill levels. No experience necessary for this paint and sip style experience!  Enjoy a hot beverage on us\, or bring your own. Great option for a date night or girls’ night out!
