We are using the paneled side\, but can tape off the back if you want to paint another design on the back for another use! We first distress the board with stain\, and apply the colors with glaze and/or thinned down acrylic paint. After stenciling the stars\, numbers and words\, we use a gold leaf application wherever it’s desired– a sparkly mess\, but lots of fun!  We have various knobs in acrylic or metal for you to choose from. SUMMARY:Loon in Water-Mixable Oil Paint and Sip
DESCRIPTION:This year\, during the Loon Festival\, we are going to paint a loon in water-mixable oil paint. It doesn’t sound possible\, but Winsor and Newton has a line of oil paint that is able to be thinned with water\, yet offers much of the same qualities as oil paint. This paint is easy to use thinned down to get the soft\, blended look so characteristic of oil paint. For more details\, read project description below.   Ages 18+ for this class please! \n$50 \nProject Description: 12×16  stretched canvas    Water Mixable Oil Paint    We will begin our painting with the loon\, water and upper sky with a black under-painting with acrylic. The rest of the painting is done with thinned water-mixable oil paint over the top. With W.M. Oil\, It is surprisingly easy to add the colors and white dots when the loon is already black!\nBecause we are using a thinned-down technique\, it doesn’t take as long to dry as usual. DESCRIPTION:Introducing the first of our new Holiday Collection signboard! We have planned these to coordinate with our seasonal signboards– (the Bobber\, the Butterfly\, the Snowman\, and the Blackbird.)  Like those\, these are double-sided to add another design to the other side at a future workshop. This is a great workshop to start out the summer with America celebrating 250 years. Display it periodically or all year!   I ( Sara) had so much fun distressing this board! Taking it from a smooth\, unfinished board\, to rough and beaten up was loud\, but fun! For more details\, read on below.  This is a paint and sip style workshop. Bring your own favorite beverages and snacks. Coffee and tea are available on us. Ages 18+ for this workshop please!  The price of these new holiday signboards will vary\, depending on the design and how much prep and time they take. \n$60 \nProject Description:  We begin with an unfinished board\, 1″ x 12″ x 3′     Using various tools\, including hammers\, we will distress the board on the edges and surface\, roughing it up to look old.  After we stain the board to our liking\, we will be using acrylic paint and nailing the star in place. SUMMARY:Snowman's Cardinal
DESCRIPTION:This snowman has had better days\, as he helplessly watches this cardinal steal thread from his scarf.  If you never tried painting with a pottery sponge\, you are in for a pleasant surprise! The entire background and body of this snowman is done with a pottery sponge\, resulting in a soft\, fluffy effect. We use transfer paper to apply the outline of the bird\, scarf\, hat and carrot.  You will have the option to put a smile on your snowman instead of the surprised expression\, and you can skip the pulling thread if you wish.  If you do opt for the thread\, we can help you by request– either by painting it for you or offering a brush tip marker in a coordinating color.   To achieve the depth of color in the scarf and bird\, we will be painting with 3 tones of paint\, starting with the darkest tone. Our instructor will guide you\, step by step\, to get the look!  Join us for a fun afternoon and bring home a snowman to add to your collection! We accept all skill levels. DESCRIPTION:The Christmas Truck is back!  This truck has the ability to be painted at your own level! The outline of the truck is provided\, so no drawing skills are required to enjoy this class and leave with a painting you never thought you could do yourself! This is a “paint and sip” style event! We provide coffee\, tea\, cocoa and cider\, or bring your own favorite beverage or snack. Our instructor will guide you step by step\, with the option to keep it simple or add additional details as shown in this sample\, such as the railing on the truck.  We paint with brushes\, sponges and even our own fingers to get the effect. Adding the spattered snow always adds that finishing touch and we joke that it also “hides” a lot of “oopsies!”  Our goal is for our patrons to enjoy an afternoon of fun\, creativity and laughter. How relaxed you are really depends on you! Bring your sense of humor and holiday spirit! This is a great option for an annual team-building event\, a date night\, girls night out\, or a chance to spend an afternoon tapping into your creative side. Ages 18+ for this painting please!   Note:  We have allotted 3 full hours to allow for all the details as desired.  Plan for 3 hours minimum\, we always need a little wiggle room! \n$50     acrylic paint     12×16 stretch canvas \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Register in advance!
