Option to mat your painting at the end of day 2. \nBring your own reference photos and painting supplies. (suggested list of supplies included below) \nSandwich lunch provided or BYO \n  \nMeet the artist:      A native of Amery\, Wisconsin\, Paul is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and a Bold Brush International competition finalist for his watercolors. Painting since he was ten years of age\, Paul works full-time using his artistic abilities to bring hope\, inspiration\, and joy to the lives of others through art and its creative processes. He works in watercolor\, acrylic\, and oil. Founder of Drawn to the Word in 2011\, Paul paints large-scale canvases with high visual impact before audiences around the world. Paul lives near Deer Park\, Wisconsin with his wife\, Jana. They have three children. \nWebsites: www.paulomanfineart.com   www.drawn-to-the-word.com   Email: paul@paulomanfineart.com  FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/DrawnToTheWordPaulOmanFineArt \nSuggested List of Materials \nPaul’s List of Materials:  \nI have listed materials that I use. You do not have to purchase these particular materials if you already have your own. Substitutes will do. \nPaints: I use Windsor $ Newton professional grade tube paints. There are several brands of professional grade watercolor paint available which are equally as good. Quality student grade watercolors (e.g. Academy [Grumbacher] or Cotman [Windsor & Newton] work OK and are less expensive. \nRecommended Colors:  Cadmium Yellow Light or Windsor Yellow\, Raw Sienna\, Raw Umber\, Burnt Sienna\, Alizarin Crimson\, French Ultramarine\, Cobalt Blue\, Cerulean Blue. \nAdditional Colors:  (not necessary but lots of fun!): Cadmium Red\, Permanent Rose\, Permanent Sap Green\, Quinacridone Gold\, Paynes Gray\, Permanent White Goauche. \nPainting Palette:      I use a John Pike painting palette. However\, any palette which has a larger-sized mixing area or areas is good. \nBrushes:     A variety of brushes will work. Here are some I use: \nFlats ranging from 1/2 to 2 in width. \nRounds\, #’s 6\, 8 & 10 \nA script brush (also called a rigger) for fine line detail. \nWatercolor Paper:       There are many papers you can buy. Your most cost-efficient means would be to buy a tablet of high quality watercolor paper. I prefer 140 pound Arches Cold Press or Rough paper\, either sheets or blocks (stack of paper glued together on the edges). Whatever paper you buy\, I strongly suggest you do NOT get a paper that has a shiny appearance to the surface. These can be very frustrating to paint on. In my opinion\, it is worth every penny to buy a higher quality paper so you can experience success. \nSomething to Put Your Paper On:     You will need a flat surface on which to place and/or fasten your paper\, such as a piece of plywood or tile board\, and a 2-3 in prop for under your board (wood block or book\, etc. ). \nOther Supplies that are helpful (*=required): \n*masking tape (I use this to tape my paper to the board) \n*#2 or softer pencil \n*kneaded eraser \n*sketch pad \n*sunglasses (helps to see values quickly) \nArt Masking Fluid (not necessary) \nSpray bottle for water (very helpful) \nsalt \nsponge \nWhere to get your supplies: \n1. I highly recommend Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff. They specialize in watercolor supplies. You can find them on-line at www.cheapjoes.com or give them a call at 1-800-227-2788. This is where I order my supplies and I have been completely satisfied for years. \n2. Another quality place is Art Supply Warehouse\, www.aswexpress.com  or 1-800-995-6778. \n3. Dick Blick Art Supplies. \n4. Michaels Craft Stores \n5. Amazon.com \nKicks the Art Place Ticket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Register in advance! Registration closes at 8PM the night before. Last minute registrants\, call to check on availability. \n*We reserve the right to require a registration minimum; classes are subject to change. \n*Any cancellation by us will result in a credit towards a future class or a refund. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
