SUMMARY:Loon in Water-Mixable Oil Paint
DESCRIPTION:Paint a loon in water-mixable oil paint. It doesn’t sound possible\, but Winsor and Newton has a line of oil paint that is able to be thinned with water\, yet offers much of the same qualities as oil paint. This paint is easy to use thinned down to get the soft\, blended look so characteristic of oil paint. For more details\, read project description below.   Ages 18+ for this class please! \n$50 \nProject Description: 12×16  stretched canvas    Water Mixable Oil Paint    We will begin our painting with the loon\, water and upper sky with a black under-painting with acrylic. The rest of the painting is done with thinned water-mixable oil paint over the top. With W.M. Oil\, It is surprisingly easy to add the colors and white dots when the loon is already black!\nBecause we are using a thinned-down technique\, it doesn’t take as long to dry as usual. But still plan to leave with a sticky painting. Keep it hanging on a wall out of reach until it is at least dry to the touch. \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Sign up in advance! Ticket sales close at 8PM the night before. Last minute inquiries\, call to check on availability. \n*Class minimum: 4 \n*In the event of not reaching the minimum\, class is subject to cancellation. \n*Cancellations by us will result in a credit towards a future class or a refund.

SUMMARY:Signboard Workshop: Red Wing Blackbird
DESCRIPTION:Paint your fall signboard before the air cools! Bring your favorite beverage and snacks if you wish\, as we paint our signboards together\, step by step. We provide a template for the bird and the cattail perch\, so no drawing skills are necessary! Our seasonal signboards are a great front door welcome for your home! See our holiday signboards in a smaller\, coordinating board– a Halloween/Thanksgiving design is coming soon! Our signboards are double-sided\, giving the option to return to our studio at another seasonal workshop to paint the other side. See Project Description below for more details! Tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited to 8\, in order to maintain comfortable working space for the signboards. If you have a larger group\, please call us to discuss options.  Note the earlier deadline for these workshops in the ticket policy at the bottom of the page. Ages 18+ please! \n$120Project Description: This is a four hour workshop with short intermittent breaks. The boards are 4 ft x 18 in. Acrylic paint is used with various brushes\, sponges and rags. The boards are propped up off the floor about 2 feet and a stool is provided\, but expect some bending and reaching. There’s usually enough room to lay it across the table if necessary.   IF YOU ARE RETURNING WITH A SIGNBOARD-– typically\, we need time to prep the boards in advance\, but this design requires no prepping. So go ahead and bring it the day of–but choose the ticket option with the $10 discount!  \nReturning painters: We have a frequent painter punch card that doesn’t expire! Be sure to start your punch card at your next class!  \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Sign up in advance! Ticket sales close at 8PM two nights before.
