SUMMARY:Chapel in the Woods
DESCRIPTION:Paint along\, step by step\, with Sara\, her painting entitled\, “Chapel in the Woods.”  Inspired by a little white chapel from her childhood\, this painting is sure to bring up some cozy\, nostalgic vibes! An outline of the chapel and windows is prepared ahead of time\, so no need to worry about drawing skills. We will focus on applying the paint  one layer at a time. Sara implements techniques with sponges and spattering to help you achieve this snowy scene. All levels of painters are welcome. Your most cost-efficient means would be to buy a tablet of high quality watercolor paper. I prefer 140 pound Arches Cold Press or Rough paper\, either sheets or blocks (stack of paper glued together on the edges). Whatever paper you buy\, I strongly suggest you do NOT get a paper that has a shiny appearance to the surface. These can be very frustrating to paint on. In my opinion\, it is worth every penny to buy a higher quality paper so you can experience success. \nSomething to Put Your Paper On:     You will need a flat surface on which to place and/or fasten your paper\, such as a piece of plywood or tile board\, and a 2-3 in prop for under your board (wood block or book\, etc. ). \nOther Supplies that are helpful (*=required): \n*masking tape (I use this to tape my paper to the board) \n*#2 or softer pencil \n*kneaded eraser \n*sketch pad \n*sunglasses (helps to see values quickly) \nArt Masking Fluid (not necessary) \nSpray bottle for water (very helpful) \nsalt \nsponge \nWhere to get your supplies: \n1. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the July 4th weekend painting our patriotic giraffe! She’s smart\, she’s festive\, she’s wearing Linda’s glasses\, and she’s ready for fireworks!  With paint splattered spots\, every giraffe will be unique. We transfer the outline and use a template for the glasses. (I actually laid down my own glasses and traced them) It’s not as hard as it looks! Lots of freedom with this painting-make it your own!  Painting the glasses can feel tricky\, acrylic paint markers are the solution! So not to worry\, we’ve got your back. Come and join Sara after work for some painting fun! Feel free to bring in your own food and snacks and eat while you paint. We have coffee\, tea\, and cocoa. Ages 16+ please! \n$45 \nTicket Policy: \n*No refunds \n*Register in advance! Registration closes at 8PM the night before.
