SUMMARY:Signboard Workshop: Red Wing Blackbird
DESCRIPTION:Paint your fall signboard before the air cools! Bring your favorite beverage and snacks if you wish\, as we paint our signboards together\, step by step. We provide a template for the bird and the cattail perch\, so no drawing skills are necessary! Our seasonal signboards are a great front door welcome for your home! See our holiday signboards in a smaller\, coordinating board– a Halloween/Thanksgiving design is coming soon! Our signboards are double-sided\, giving the option to return to our studio at another seasonal workshop to paint the other side. See Project Description below for more details! Tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited to 8\, in order to maintain comfortable working space for the signboards. If you have a larger group\, please call us to discuss options.  Note the earlier deadline for these workshops in the ticket policy at the bottom of the page. Ages 18+ please! \n$120Project Description: This is a four hour workshop with short intermittent breaks. The boards are 4 ft x 18 in. Acrylic paint is used with various brushes\, sponges and rags. We have aprons\, but keep in mind this paint does not wash out of clothes. We provide gloves as an option\, as it can get a little messy for some parts of the process. The boards are propped up off the floor about 2 feet and a stool is provided\, but expect some bending and reaching. There’s usually enough room to lay it across the table if necessary.   IF YOU ARE RETURNING WITH A SIGNBOARD-– typically\, we need time to prep the boards in advance\, but this design requires no prepping. So go ahead and bring it the day of–but choose the ticket option with the $10 discount!  \nReturning painters: We have a frequent painter punch card that doesn’t expire! I hope you like the options we have in September! Apple Orchards were always an annual activity for my family when my kids were younger. I hope this painting brings up many happy memories for you as well! I consider this one to be an intermediate level\, but as usual\, no drawing skills are necessary! We will transfer the outline and paint step by step\, beginning with the background and working in layers. There will be times I’ll ask you to mix a couple colors on your plate to create lighter or darker values\, but I’m always able to help.  I think you’ll enjoy getting that chalky-chalkboard look on the sign. The shadows are important in this one\, which is why I consider it to be an intermediate level. DESCRIPTION:(Ahem) Please excuse the AI we used to put some fall flowers in our planter box\, we promise to put our own fall display in soon! This workshop is FUN.  See project description below to learn how and why! As usual\, we invite you to bring your favorite beverages and snacks to sip and munch while you work. Be sure to register before the deadline-two nights before the event!  Space is LIMITED\, so don’t wait! Ages 18+ for this event please! \n$175 \nProject Description: You will have both Linda and Sara’s assistance\, so plenty of help is available! The back board is 4 feet tall and 12 inches wide. Base is 12 inches square. We first distress each board in the project– which is a fun way to get your aggression out! We’ll show you our little tricks to make that wood look as old and beat up as you want it to be. You choose a gel stain color and a stencil design from 3 options. We will show you each step along the way\, assisting as needed. The last step is to assemble the boards\, which we do right in our shop. Ear protection is available during the distressing portion of the project- it gets LOUD! Plan to use a variety of tools\, with some standing and sitting on a stool\, possibly some kneeling during the assembly portion.
